Love Me Beauty August 2014

You get a choice of 3 Love Me Beauty boxes every month.  They contain very similar items, but a couple of products will be slightly different,  so you get to pick which box suits you best.  You can also skip a month if you don’t like what they are offering and you can also pick a mystery box where what you get will be a surprise.  I have never done this, as I have always chosen which box I want.  This beauty box costs £10 + £2.95 p&p.  The size of the products in Love Me Beauty are decent sizes and quite often there are full sizes in the box.

This month I went for Edition 3 as I wanted the beauty wonder oil.  The first thing I noticed was that there are only 4 products!  I think I got spoilt last month with the 7 products I received, but there just seems to be something missing from this month’s box.  There is no lifestyle product this month, which would have filled it out a bit and not made my box look so empty when I opened it.  Even my partner made a comment asking if that was all I got this month!  But even though there doesn’t seem to be much in the box, every product I received is actually full size!  That is impressive.

Oriflame – Swedish Spa Beauty Wonder Oil – £8.45

This is 150ml in size.  This is a versatile oil which softens and nourishes.  It contains Hydracare+, antioxidants, tonic ginger oil, nourishing coconut oil, vitamin E and sweet almond oil and smells absolutely amazing!!  Using this straight out of the shower will leave you smelling fantastic.  When you apply the oil to the skin it doesn’t leave you feeling greasy, it absorbs straight in and leaves your skin feeling silky and soft.  I am such a massive fan of body oil and I use it all the time and this is what made me chose Edition 3.  You can use this oil for massage, moisturising, bathing or as a pre-shampoo treatment for your hair.  This oil is so versatile, you can use it for so many things and it smell great, I just love this oil it is now a new favourite of mine.

Marsk – Mineral Eyeshadow – Lucky Penny – £14.49

This eyeshadow is a 100% natural mineral based loose powder and is also strictly cruelty free, which is what I like to hear.  The colour I received is ‘Lucky Penny’, which is a nice browny bronze colour and it can be blended easily and also looks gorgeous on.  The powder has a creamy texture once applied and is also highly pigmented.  This colour will go really well with the one I received in my You Beauty Discovery box.  You can also use these eyeshadows wet or dry, depending on the desired look you are after.

Mirabella – Lip Luster Liner – Shy – £10.50

This lip liner is lovely, it is long wearing and has a shiny finish.  It contains Aloe Vera that helps to keep lips soft and application comfortable.  Because of this it doesn’t feel as dry as a lot of liners can do, and you can even coat the entire lip with the liner before applying a gloss or a balm for full coverage.  I love the colour, it is a subtle nude colour that works really well with my skin tone.  I’m very impressed with this lip liner.

A La Carte – Smudge-Proof Eyebrow Definer – Blonde – £23

Now this product is definitely one that has caught my eye.  This is a skinny tip pen which you use to paint in individual hairs.  It is water-based and smudge-proof which can be used for eyebrow, eyeliner or semi-permanent body art.  The colour that was in everyone’s box is Blonde, which is actually more like a light brown.  I had to apply quite a lot when I first tried it out (as you can see in the picture).  Even though it is more brown than blonde, it is still the wrong shade of brown for me, but maybe mixed with a powder or pencil I maybe able to get the right shade.  I like the fact you can use this for your brown and as an eye liner, I don’t think I will get much use of it as a body art pen.  The down side of this product is the fact that it is £23!  I would never pay that amount of money for this, I think it is just extremely over priced, but it has been nice to be able to try it out.

So the value of this box comes to £56.44, not bad considering there was only 4 products in the box.  I do feel like something else should have been included in this box, there really should have been a lifestyle extra to bulk it out a bit.  It also reminds me a lot of last month’s box, I got two brow products last month and another one this month, I got an eyeshadow last month and again this month.  It would be nice if the mixed it up a bit, but I am still happy with the products I received, and I will use most of them, I just can’t help feeling like something is missing.
